iPhone 14 & 14 Plus Announced, Priced in the Philippines

A15 bionic, Satellite Communication and more!

Apple announced today the Apple 14 and 14 Plus from its annual September Apple event.

Notably, this year’s iPhone replaced the ‘mini’ with a bigger iPhone 14 Plus.

It has the same design as last year’s iPhone 13, with the regular iPhone 14 having the 6.1″ inch display, and the bigger 6.7″ inch display for iPhone 14 Plus. Both devices have Apple-custom OLED display, HDR10, and 1200 nits of brightness.

The earlier rumor is right! The iPhone 14 still uses the same Apple’s A15 Bionic chip with slightly improved performance. There is just an increased 5-core GPU compared to the previous generation.

There’s also a wide aperture on the 14s. It has now ƒ/1.5 aperture on its main camera and ƒ/1.9 front camera.

As part of its commitment of Apple to reduce carbon footprints on all of its products, Apple removes Physical SIM slots in US-model iPhone 14. No wonder, if the world is ready, we can see no physical SIM slot on future iPhones.

One of the coolest and most useful features highlighted in the iPhone 14 series is the Emergency SOS via satellite. It uses satellite technology to communicate and send messages during an emergency in remote areas, instead of the regular cell site on the ground.

Also, there’s Crash Detection included. A feature you wouldn’t want to use. It uses phone sensors to trigger an emergency call if you’ve been into an accident or high-impact movement.
