Realme has begun to gain the lead in the local market by becoming one of the top mobile brands in the Philippines, based on a study.

In published research from global firm Canalys, Realme overtakes Huawei this Q4 2019 in unit shares in the Philippines at 9%, with a whopping 700% growth from the same period last year. This bumped Huawei down to the fifth spot, with a near-flat 3% growth and 8% of the market share.

OPPO and Vivo topped the shares that period, amassing more than half of the market share, with the latter posting 125% growth from last year. Samsung had the steepest decline this past holiday season with a 32% decline in sales compared to the same period in 2018.
