Globe Telecom’s (Globe) online education community This isKwela and online learning platform EdVenture are giving away free 500 single tutorial sessions for parents.

This isKwela is part of Globe for Education which aims to bridge digital gaps in the Philippine education landscape via access to connectivity, learning platforms, and other solutions. The e-learning platform also helps Filipinos of all ages discover learning opportunities; acquire affordable, accessible, and safe learning solutions, and connect to industry experts.

While EdVenture is an edtech startup launched in May 2021, is a portfolio company under 917Ventures, Globe’s corporate venture builder. It aims to provide 21st century learning through high-quality, affordable, and inclusive one-on-one tutorials accessible to Filipino learners. Interested participants only need to join the This isKwela Facebook Community to qualify for the free tutorial sessions.

“With most schools deploying online learning due to the pandemic, we want to elevate learning by equipping parents with an additional learning tool to ensure that their children do well in school while at the same time providing additional income to hundreds of Filipino educators who either lost their jobs or experienced reduced salaries due to the pandemic,” said Sarah Cortes, Head of EdVenture Learn Group.

KD Dizon, Head of Globe Business, MSME Group, said the initiative can show students and parents how technology can be a tool to boost learning, instead of a hindrance to education. “Our goal is to make parents and students comfortable with using technology for learning. We believe technology can level the playing field in terms of access to quality education. This effort by EdVenture and This isKwela is aligned with our Globe for Education program, which aims to provide quality education to everyone by leveraging technology.”
