Unboxing the device reveals a little more than today’s standard in terms of packages, as there’s a pair of wired earphones bundled in! That’s aside from the usual TPU case, documentation (neatly taped by the way), SIM and microSD card slot ejector, USB-C cable, and the power charger.

The phone itself: stunning. The 6.44-inch display looks great at the front, along with the call speaker and the 16-megapixel selfie camera. We’re surprised this is a notched design, contrary to most phones at its price range that offers cut-out holes for the front cameras. The fingerprint scanner is also at the front part.

The phone is also thin from its sides, making it easy to hold even for longer periods of time. The reflective chrome-plated sides reflect the surfaces it tops on. The bottom part has the 3.5mm audio jack, the microphone, the USB-C port, and the bottom-firing loudspeakers.

The right sides has the volume and power/lock keys, protruding from the side frame.

The left side features the card tray where you can put in two nano SIM cards and a microSD card slot.

Turn the phone to its back and you’ll see this dazzling back pattern in purple-pink colors, and it’s cool that the refraction takes a different lighted pattern in different angles. The triple rear camera setup, along with the LED flash, is housed on a protruded rounded rectangle area at the top-left, while the vivo logo is below it.

A 64-megapixel rear camera leads the triple setup along with an eight-megapixel for ultrawide photos, and a 2MP lens for depth. Photos captured have provided good details and colors. Here are some initial samples upon booting it for the first time:

The vivo Y73 is now available at vivo concept stores, authorized dealers, as well as their official online channels nationwide for P14,999 with a P500 off voucher and freebies in tow including a DITO SIM card and a pair of TWS earphones. You can also avail of this new device via 0% installment options — up to 12 months via major credit cards, and up to 9 months via Home Credit. We’re taking the phone for a deeper dive, so expect a full review in the coming days.
