During the inaugural HOYOfest in the Philippines, we had the opportunity to catch a glimpse of an exciting new video game from HOYOverse – Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ). This 3D RPG game, set in a post-apocalyptic metropolis called Eridu, lets players step into the shoes of a character known as a Proxy, pitted against mysterious enemies called Hollows. Players can also team up with other characters in the game to unleash powerful combinations against their foes.
At this year’s HOYOfest held in Mandaluyong City’s SM Megamall, media representatives and festival attendees were given an exclusive 10-minute preview of ZZZ’s gameplay. This preview showcased a portion of the closed beta content for the PC version of the game, allowing players to explore Eridu, interact with its inhabitants, tackle character-based challenge modes, and experience a tutorial-driven story mode in Chapter 0.
The gameplay in ZZZ resembles the action seen in popular RPG titles like Final Fantasy and Persona, featuring real-time combat. Unlike traditional RPGs, ZZZ introduces a diverse roster of characters, which is a unique departure from the usual human-centric characters found in similar games.
The controls in ZZZ are user-friendly, borrowing elements from other HOYOverse titles like Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail. Players can execute powerful combination attacks using the “E” key, which corresponds to character-specific abilities. These abilities can be used twice, depending on the player’s monster damage gauge.
In summary, Zenless Zone Zero is shaping up to be an exciting new RPG title for gamers who enjoy story-driven combat. While the game is set to be released on various platforms, including PC, mobile (iOS first), and possibly the Sony Playstation, the official release date has yet to be confirmed.
