HoYoverse has confirmed that Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.3, titled The Fall at Dawn’s Rise, will be released on May 21. This new update continues the Flame-Chase Journey story, bringing the Trailblazers together with the Chrysos Heirs for a major battle.
Why it matters: This update brings important changes to the story, adds two new playable 5-star characters, and introduces fresh events that offer more gameplay variety for players.
In Version 3.3, players will join the Chrysos Heirs as they face off against the Sky Titan, Aquila. Based on old legends, Aquila is a giant bird with many eyes that controls the sunrise and sunset. This battle marks the climax of the Flame-Chase Journey arc.
A new stage called Echo of War: Glance of Twilight will be introduced as well. It offers new combat challenges and rewards.
Two new 5-star characters will join the game:
- Hyacine: A Wind character on the Path of Remembrance. She is the chief physician at Twilight Courtyard and focuses on healing. She can heal all teammates and increase their max HP using her skills and her helper, Little Ica, who can also attack based on healing output.
- Cipher: A Quantum character on the Path of Nihility. She marks enemies with the highest HP, records all the damage they take, and deals follow-up and True DMG based on that record. Cipher is one of the first Chrysos Heirs, with a mysterious background and flexible battle style.
Returning 5-star characters include The Herta and Aglaea, who will be available in the first and second halves of the Version 3.3 warp event.
Several limited-time events will also go live in this update:
- Penacony Speed Cup: Spheroid Racing Tournament: A competitive event where players race using Spheroid Racers.
- Legend of the Galactic Baseballer: Demon King: This event returns with new features following player feedback, focusing on a raccoon’s search for a legendary bat.
The update continues the game’s ongoing story from Version 3.2, where Madam Herta’s data spirit reached the Vortex of Genesis. The mysteries of Amphoreus and its connection to the galaxy will be explored further.
