Only one out of four Filipino students who start grade school finish college. Many families cannot afford to send their children to college. PHINMA Education wants to change this by offering low-cost education through its network of schools in the Philippines and Indonesia. It currently operates 12 institutions and has supported more than 144,000 students with over 110 programs. Many of these students are the first in their families to reach college.

Why it matters: PHINMA Education aims to help students from low-income families break out of poverty. With better access to affordable education and technology, more students can finish college and find better jobs in the future.
To help improve its systems, PHINMA Education partnered with Lenovo. The goal is to create a single tech ecosystem for all its schools. This means teachers and staff will use the same devices and software, making it easier to deliver learning content and manage school systems.
Before this partnership, PHINMA schools used different device brands. This made it harder for IT teams to manage and support users. Switching to a single technology provider helped reduce costs, speed up decision-making, and simplify moving data to the cloud.
PHINMA Education also adopted Lenovo’s EdVision program. This helps teachers use digital tools to improve their lessons and teaching styles. Lenovo’s Device as a Service (DaaS) also helps PHINMA manage its resources better and reduce technical downtime.
With Lenovo in charge of managing IT devices and services, PHINMA can focus more on its education goals.
In two years, PHINMA has already bought about 2,000 Lenovo devices. It plans to add 1,000 more by 2025. It will also start using Lenovo’s TruScale Device as a Service and Managed Services to keep its device supply stable and its IT systems always supported.
PHINMA Education aims to expand further in Southeast Asia while continuing to support students from poor families in getting a college education.
