POCO has introduced the POCO M8 Series in the Philippines, made up of the POCO M8 5G and POCO M8 Pro 5G. The new models continue the brand’s M-series line and bring bigger batteries, AMOLED displays, and 5G support to the mid-range segment.

The company says the two phones are built around entertainment use, with upgrades in display, audio, performance, and durability. The POCO M8 Pro 5G sits as the higher-end model, while the POCO M8 5G focuses on a lighter and slimmer design.
Why It Matters: The M series has been one of POCO’s more accessible lines in the Philippines. By moving it closer to the mid-range segment with bigger batteries, faster charging, and better displays, POCO is trying to offer features that are usually found in more expensive phones at lower prices.
The POCO M8 Pro 5G comes with a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a claimed peak brightness of up to 3200 nits, Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support, and high-frequency PWM dimming for eye comfort. It also has dual speakers with Dolby Atmos and a volume boost mode.
For performance, it uses the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset and introduces a liquid cooling system to the M series. POCO also highlights added features such as Xiaomi HyperOS, Google Gemini, and Circle to Search, along with improved connectivity features.
One of the main highlights of the POCO M8 Pro 5G is its battery. It uses a 6,500mAh silicon-carbon battery with 100W fast charging, which POCO says can fully charge the phone in around 40 minutes under ideal conditions. It also supports wired reverse charging.
For cameras, the POCO M8 Pro 5G has a 50MP main camera with OIS and a 32MP front camera. It supports 4K video recording at 30fps and includes several AI-based photo and video features.
In terms of build, the POCO M8 Pro 5G uses Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the front, has multiple dust and water resistance ratings, and is rated by SGS for durability. It measures 8.31mm thick and weighs around 205.9 grams.
The POCO M8 5G, on the other hand, focuses on being thinner and lighter. It has a 6.77-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and the same claimed peak brightness of 3200 nits. It also comes with dual speakers with Dolby Atmos.
It is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset and has a 5,520mAh battery with 45W fast charging. Storage can be expanded via microSD, and memory expansion is also supported.
For cameras, the POCO M8 5G uses a 50MP main camera and a 20MP front camera, and it also supports 4K video recording at 30fps. Like the Pro model, it includes several AI-based camera features.
