Things to consider when choosing an EPSON inkjet or laser printer

Faster, cost-effective, and sustainable prints
Faster, cost-effective, and sustainable prints

The market is now leaning towards the latest inkjet printers that deliver energy-efficient performance at a lower cost and less waste compared to laser printers. These latest inkjet printers are versatile and are more capable of producing quality prints on different types of paper.

With the current work environment set-up, where more people are working from home and new office layouts are being designed, companies are also opting for easy-to-maintain printers which are inseparable from offices that have a minimal environmental impact.

There are four factors to be considered:

  1. Cost Effectiveness – Epson’s high ink yield business inkjet printers benefits users from lower cost per print and still offers good quality prints. The cost of inkjet cartridges is lower and less frequent with CISS models compared to laser printers which has a high investment cost but has a longer toner lifespan. The cost effectiveness of either type of printer must be measured by cost per page and the volume of printing it will handle.
  2. Quality and Sustainability – Epson’s WorkForce Enterprise printers deliver a maximum resolution of 600 x 2,400 dpi on prints that are water, fade and smudge resistant. While Epson business inkjet models also consume up to 85% less power and generate 85% less CO2 than laser printers. These have an advantage on text output and offers a resolution of up to 600 dots per inch (dpi) or higher. However, inkjet printers are now offering comparable quality and also more energy efficient and sustainable. Fewer consumables also reduce waste from ink tank models.
  3. Speed and Capacity – Laser printers are considered for frequent, high-volume text-based printing due to its speed and precision. Meanwhile, new inkjet models are producing the same results if not better. Epson’s business inkjet printers include heat-free technology that enables printing at high speeds of up to 100ppm in both simplex and duplex. Additionally, inkjet printers can print photos better and is perfect for business printings with less often or more focused on images. The inkjet continues to surpass laser printers in overall quality at a lower cost.
  4. Space Requirements – Inkjet printers are compact in size and can be placed in any parts of the office with some models small enough to be set up easily on a table. Laser printers, on the other hand, are considerably bulkier than the average inkjet printer.

Inkjet printers are becoming faster, more cost-effective, and sustainable than laser printer models and still deliver quality prints. Consider whether the business is printing more text or images and how much printing will is needed. Choosing a printer for business will always depend on what is required.
