Sources close to WalasTech have revealed that local consumer electronics brand Cherry is preparing to launch not one, but two Cherry Mobile 5G phones by the end of the month.
After being teased right before the pandemic came in, the opportunity came for the local brand to launch new phones with the new mobile network connectivity as more affordable phones from other brands have come in with different features coming with their 5G phones.
Heard from the Grapevine: The upcoming hero 5G product will be powered by a MediaTek Helio Dimensity chip, confirming reports from other tech blogs that the brand indeed has been working with MediaTek in bringing affordable 5G phones to the masses. The collaboration started as early as 2020, before the pandemic hit.
What we think it could be: We have been following Cherry’s mobile releases religiously. If we are to pattern the brand’s new phones that are the same as what is newly released by another brand on the other side of the world, one of the upcoming devices may sport a quad rear camera setup, a 5000mAh battery capacity with 18W wireless charging and 10W wireless charge, and a 6.8-inch Full HD+ Truview Display to boot.
There could also be a possibility that one of the new phones would be called the Cherry Mobile Aqua SV, based on recent communication device approvals listed on the National Telecommunication Commission’s website.
Cherry is said to be launching these new phones this April. Stay tuned for more information as we get it.
