Honor of Kings, the world’s most played MOBA, has released its second major update since June’s Honor of Kings Plus. The new version, called Honor of Kings Thrilling, brings a new heroine, a limited-time game mode, and customizable AI companions designed to add both excitement and relaxation to gameplay.

Why it Matters: With more than 100 million daily active users globally, Honor of Kings continues to expand its in-game content to keep players engaged. This update builds on the Plus release earlier this year by introducing features that mix competitive gameplay with more casual, customizable elements.
The update introduces Umbrosa, the Fallen Austren, a new Clash Lane warrior with high survivability and a revival mechanic. Her skill set includes Flying Blade attacks, a sweeping Feverish Dance, a dashing Feathered Tempest, and Final Frenzy, which unleashes her Radiant Glory. Umbrosa’s ultimate allows her to remain alive for four extra seconds upon death, giving players an edge in critical team fights.

Honor of Kings Thrilling also debuts Ultimate Awakening Weekends, a limited-time mode running in phases from September 27 to October 13. Players can unlock Core Enhancements, enter Awakening Form, and level up powerful new skills. Fifteen Heroes are available in this phase, offering fresh combinations and high-intensity battles.
Another key feature is Spriteling, an AI-powered companion available in human and cat forms. Fully customizable, Spritelings interact with players across the lobby, rooms, and matchmaking. Events will allow players to unlock accessories, costumes, and even limited-edition Cat Spritelings through sign-in rewards, blind box exchanges, and in-game challenges. A Spriteling Battle mini game is also set to launch in October.
With Umbrosa, Awakening Weekends, and the customizable Spriteling system, Honor of Kings Thrilling adds new layers of gameplay and personalization. Will these updates help the game further cement its lead in the global MOBA scene?
