KingNet, in partnership with Webzen and Southeast Asian publisher PlayPark, is bringing a new chapter to the long-running MU franchise with MU: New Dawn. The game is set to begin its closed beta test this August, reintroducing the classic MMORPG experience with cross-platform support for both mobile and PC players.

Why it matters: The MU series, developed originally by Webzen, has built a strong following in the MMORPG community over the years. With MU: New Dawn, KingNet and PlayPark aim to deliver a refreshed, faster-paced version of the iconic game—offering nostalgic gameplay with modern improvements and a wider reach through cross-platform support.
What to Expect from MU: New Dawn
MU: New Dawn promises quicker progression through smart systems that reward active play. Players can level up, refine gear, and hunt bosses without the steep grind of traditional MMORPGs. Free VIP access from the start provides in-game benefits that enhance gameplay from day one.
The game will launch with five classic MU classes, each with distinct skills and evolution paths. PvP content remains a core feature, with real-time cross-server battles including 3v3 matches and Castle Siege modes. Players can team up with guilds and allies to fight for control and prestige across servers.
Community Events and Offline Activities
To strengthen the MU community in the region, PlayPark is also planning a series of on-ground events. These include player gatherings and tournaments, starting locally and expanding to regional competitions. These activities are designed to create spaces where players can meet, compete, and celebrate the MU legacy together.
