New Genshin Impact Version 5.6 “Paralogism” launching May 7

HoYoverse announced that Genshin Impact Version 5.6 “Paralogism” will be released on May 7. The update will introduce a new Archon Quest Interlude in Mondstadt, a new management gameplay event in Fontaine, and two new playable characters, Escoffier and Ifa.

Why it Matters: Version 5.6 expands the main story and gameplay variety, offering new quests, characters, and events that deepen player engagement across multiple regions.

In the new Archon Quest Interlude, players return to Mondstadt for the Windblume Festival, but celebrations are disrupted when Albedo faces an unexpected trial. Players must investigate the situation with the help of Venti, familiar members of the Knights of Favonius, and new allies like Dahlia and Lady Alice from the Hexenzirkel. The quest introduces a new Weekly Boss Challenge featuring a magical chessboard battle against powerful enemies.

The Fontaine region will also introduce a new event called The Chevalmarin Film Fantasyland. Players will manage an amusement park by upgrading attractions, recruiting employees, and boosting service value. Successful management will unlock rewards, including the new 4-star bow, Sequence of Solitude.

Two new characters will be added to the roster. Escoffier, a 5-star Cryo polearm user and former chef of Hotel Debord, can summon a cooking machine to attack enemies and heal teammates. Ifa, a 4-star Anemo catalyst user from Natlan, fights alongside his Qucusaurus companion, Cacucu, providing healing and battlefield control.

The first phase of Version 5.6’s Event Wishes will feature Escoffier, Navia, and Ifa. The second phase will include Kinich and Raiden Shogun. Chronicled Wish banners will also return with characters from Inazuma.

Genshin Impact Version 5.6 will be available across PlayStation, Xbox, PC, Android, and iOS. The game supports cross-progression and Co-Op gameplay.
