PLDT has announced the completion of Sun Prepaid subscribers transfer to Smart, and will now be under the Smart Prepaid banner.
Former Sun Prepaid subscribers will still retain their Sun numbers while gaining access to more prepaid promos that are already being offered in Smart Prepaid. “Following this development, millions of Sun Prepaid subscribers are now Smart Prepaid subscribers and can now enjoy GIGA bundles such as GIGA Video, GIGA Stories, and GIGA Games, which include generous data allocations that cater to customers’ various lifestyle needs and passions,” the telco said.
PLDT is also slowly transitioning Sun Postpaid subscribers with them being able to pay for their bills at Smart Centers nationwide, as well as using Smart’s settings for mobile Internet connection since 2016.
Sun Cellular, a former DigiTel mobile arm under the JG Summit Holdings umbrella, was launched in March 2003 before being acquired by PLDT in 2011. The telco pioneered the use of a 24/7 unlimited call and text connection in 2004.
