During the Internationale Funkausstellung or simply known as IFA 2022 in Berlin Germany, HONOR introduced new products for the first time since the independence of the brand from HUAWEI.
Consumers in Europe and international markets, including the Philippines will soon experience the products from HONOR, but first, let’s see what they have introduced so far.
HONOR 70
The HONOR 70 5G was launched in China back in May but made its global debut in IFA 2022 in Berlin Germany. It is HONOR’s latest addition to their N Series smartphone lineup.
It was awarded an EISA BEST BUY SMARTPHONE 2022-2023 award by the Expert Imaging and Sound Association, an expert community comprising over 60 of the world’s most respected consumer electronics magazines, websites, and social media commentators from 29 countries.
It has vlog-centric features such as Solo Cut mode which uses Person Re-identification Technology that can easily detect and spotlight a person in a group. In addition, Dual Video Streaming mode lets you record two videos simultaneously, with one featuring a single subject and the other capturing the full group.
To match these features, the HONOR 70 has a Dual Main Camera composed of a 54MP large 1/1.49-inch IMX800 Super Sensing Main Camera, and a 50MP Ultra-Wide & Macro camera.
It is packed with Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G Plus 5G, supports GPU Turbo X and OS Turbo X, and runs HONOR Magic UI 6.1 based on Android 12, the first for the HONOR N Series.
It is available in Midnight Black, Crystal Silver, and Emerald Green colors starting at a price of 479.99 Euro or Php 31,548.38. There are no words yet about its availability in the Philippines.
HONOR MagicBook 14
The HONOR MagicBook 14 is powered by a 12th Gen Intel Core i5-12500H and is configurable with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2050 dedicated graphics card.
You can squeeze up to 17 hours of battery life from this laptop’s 75Wh battery and it can support fast charging giving you 3.5 hours of uptime in just 15 minutes of charging. As the first HONOR laptop to feature OS Turbo, it delivers up to 20.8% better power efficiency than its predecessor.
Pre-orders of HONOR MagicBook 14 began selling in Malaysia 4299 Malaysian Ringgit or Php 54,683.46 and it is set to selected EU markets with pre-orders starting September 2, 2022
HONOR Pad 8
To complete HONOR’s global product portfolio, the brand introduced HONOR Pad 8.
HONOR Pad 8 comes in Blue Hour
It has a 12-inch 2K FullView display with a screen-to-body ratio of 87%, HONOR claims. On the other hand, it also has 8 built-in loudspeakers combined for an immersive multimedia experience.
It runs HONOR’s Magic UI 6.1 based on Android and the good news is Google Play Services. Meanwhile, the HONOR Pad 8 is powered by a 7250 mAh battery capacity for all-day connectivity.
HONOR will retail at 249.99 Euro or Php 16,431.13 if directly converted.

HONOR’s own take on Spatial Audio Technology
HONOR is interested and consistently invests in Spatial Audio technology. It is said during the keynote that HONOR’s Spatial Audio is the first to support sound externalization distance adjustment , providing an option to adjust the distance of virtual sound sources for a more personalized listening experience.
This hints that HONOR is most likely to release devices with such audio advancement but there’s no official word yet as to when it will reach the market.
HONOR previewed MagicOS 7.0
Along with its new user interface and look, HONOR also teased the cross-compatible MagicOS 7.0 which embraces a seamless interconnectivity experience across devices, and platforms available today. Using a single physical keyboard and mouse, the user can drag files and type texts on a smartphone or tablet.
MagicOS 7.0 will be officially announced in Q4 2022.
More Foldables from HONOR
During the event, HONOR announced a new Dual Flagship Strategy, which enables the brand to bring the next foldable and all-around flagship smartphones to Europe and other international markets.
More partnerships were announced.
HONOR expanded its partnerships with the Internet of Things (IoT) consortiums such as Matter and Ola, to collaborate and formulate common industry standards.
For developers, the HONOR Developer Service Platform provides direct support and services to those who will submit their apps to HONOR’s App Market and Game Center platform and to those who will develop cross-device solutions and features in the future.
Alongside Microsoft’s rebranding of “Your Phone” to “Phone Link”, support for HONOR devices has recently been added which was previously only available to Chinese users further strengthening the brand’s commitment to cross-device functionality. HONOR Magic4 Pro will receive the support first, followed by the recently-announced HONOR 70 via OTA update.
