Cignal has officially entered the vertical video trend with the launch of Cignal Play Microdrama, a lineup of short-form series designed for mobile screens. These are available exclusively on the Cignal Play app starting June 28.

Why it matters: The move reflects changing viewing habits among Filipinos, especially younger audiences who prefer bite-sized, emotional stories that can be watched on phones anytime, anywhere. Microdramas are rising in popularity globally, and Cignal is the first major local network to adopt the format at scale.
These Cignal Play Microdrama vertical series are under five minutes per episode and are optimized for Android and iOS devices. Users can watch the first five episodes of each title for free, with full access unlocked for PHP 20 per day.
The initial batch of Cignal Originals includes:
- I See You starring Dimples Romana
- My Father’s Last Wish with Dylan Menor
- 3 Queens and a Baby headlined by Christian Bables

Cignal says these microdramas highlight Filipino creativity and storytelling in a fresh, mobile-first format. The platform will also carry international titles via Dashflix.
Aside from its original satellite TV and IPTV services, Cignal has expanded its digital content reach with platforms like Pilipinas Live, Cignal Super, and now, Cignal Play Microdrama.
The new feature is available only via the mobile app. Users can download or update the Cignal Play app (Android, iOS) to start watching.
Do you think microdramas will catch on among Filipino viewers?
