Coursera, Inc. has introduced Skill Tracks, a new learning solution designed to guide learners from basic knowledge to expert proficiency through verified skill paths. The platform uses Career Graph, Coursera’s AI-driven mapping tool built on labor market data, third-party frameworks, and its proprietary skills taxonomy, to connect jobs, skills, and learning content.

Why it Matters: The World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs Report 2025 shows that 67% of Filipino employers see skill gaps as the biggest barrier to business transformation, with nearly 7 in 10 workers needing reskilling within five years. Coursera’s Skill Tracks aim to help organizations address these gaps by aligning employee learning with real business needs.
At launch, four Skill Tracks are available: Software and Product, IT, Data, and GenAI, with more planned in the coming months. Each offers a structured experience that defines the critical skills and courses needed at different role and experience levels. Learners can access expert-led content, hands-on practice, and skill verification to ensure they can apply new knowledge immediately.
Coursera said companies will benefit from tailored learning, as Skill Tracks can be customized with in-house content. Employees earn credentials through real-world assessments, while learning leaders gain real-time progress tracking and updates that keep training aligned with evolving market demands.
Over time, Coursera will expand the solution with features like skill diagnostics to place learners at the right level and performance-based evaluations that lead to verified credentials.
Skill Tracks are available today for existing Coursera enterprise customers with catalog access. New customers can buy Skill Tracks individually or bundled with the full catalog.
With Filipino employers already identifying skill shortages as a major challenge, will solutions like Coursera’s Skill Tracks be enough to accelerate workforce readiness for emerging technologies?
