Why it Matters: Increased connectivity can improve education, healthcare, and economic opportunities for millions of Filipinos in rural locations. Globe’s expansion aligns with the national goal of bridging the digital divide.

Globe has already established 600 cell sites in GIDAs and aims to reach 700 by the end of the year. This effort is part of the Connectivity Plan Task Force (CPTF) under the Private Sector Advisory Council (PSAC), which involves all three mobile network operators (MNOs) in the country.

From 2025 to 2028, MNOs have committed to building 1,050 new towers, targeting around 12 million Filipinos in remote and underserved regions. Globe continues to push for public-private partnerships to ensure efficient deployment of telecom infrastructure.

Globe advocates for a shared infrastructure approach, optimizing existing capacity to make digital services more accessible and cost-effective. By working with government agencies and industry players, Globe aims to position connectivity as a driver of national development.

Do you think expanding network access in remote areas will help bridge the digital divide in the Philippines?
