I was able to spend some time with the realme 15 Pro 5G ahead of its official release, and while I only had limited access to the unit, it was enough to get a sense of what this phone brings to the table. The device feels like realme is aiming higher in design and finish, while keeping its strong mid-range positioning.

The first thing that stands out is the look and feel of the phone. The realme 15 Pro is slim at just 7.7 mm and light at 187 grams, despite carrying a massive 7,000 mAh battery inside. Holding it in hand, the curved edges and polished surface give a comfortable grip without feeling slippery.

The materials seem well chosen, with a glass front, sturdy frame, and what feels like a reinforced back, in a Flowing Silver colorway, that doesn’t easily pick up fingerprints. The phone also carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. This alone makes the 15 Pro feel more durable than many competitors in its class.

Flipping to the front, the display is another highlight. The realme 15 Pro sports a 6.8-inch curved AMOLED panel with 1.5K resolution and up to 144 Hz refresh rate. In person, the screen looks bright, smooth, and immersive. The curved sides add to the premium look, though they may take some getting used to for those coming from flat displays.

The panel can reach a peak brightness of up to 6,500 nits, which should make outdoor use in direct sunlight less of a problem. Scrolling through the interface feels quick and fluid, and it’s clear that realme is aiming for a flagship-like experience here.

On the back, the camera design is bold, with three large circular modules arranged neatly. The main shooter is a 50 MP Sony IMX896 sensor with optical image stabilization. Beside it are a 50 MP ultra-wide camera and a 50 MP selfie camera on the front.

I couldn’t fully test image quality during this first look, but the setup seems promising, especially with 4K video at 60 fps available on both the rear and front cameras. This could be useful for content creators who rely on high-resolution video capture.

The realme 15 series does not have a Pro+ model, so a telephoto lens is sadly off the line while getting used to the MagicAura 2.0 that derives from the realme 14’s Halo lighting, where the LED flash is around the third camera lens, and can be configured to different colors and styles depending on your need. That, and additional colorful and fun watermark styles distance itself from its predecessors and present as a fun phone to use in parties.
Under the hood, the realme 15 Pro runs on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chip paired with up to 12 GB of RAM and as much as 512 GB of storage. While I wasn’t able to run benchmarks, the initial navigation felt smooth. This chipset is designed for efficiency and performance balance, so it should handle daily tasks and even some gaming without much trouble.

The phone boots Android 15 with realme UI 6.0, and it also introduces some new AI-driven tools like Edit Genie, which allows voice-based editing of photos, and AI Party Mode, which is optimized for low-light group shots.
Battery capacity is another area where realme is pushing boundaries. The 7,000 mAh cell is one of the largest in its segment, and it supports 80 W fast charging. Despite the huge capacity, the phone remains slim which is already a feat. realme claims this can charge the phone to 50 percent in under half an hour.

Overall, my first impressions of the realme 15 Pro 5G are positive, especially when it comes to design and durability. It feels like realme is trying to bring more premium touches to the mid-range segment without losing sight of performance and practicality. The combination of slim build, IP ratings, curved AMOLED display, and a huge battery makes this phone stand out.

realme 15 Pro 5G: Pricing and Availability in the Philippines
The official launch of the realme 15 Series 5G in the Philippines is set for September 16, where pricing and full availability details will finally be revealed. That will be the real deciding factor for many, but from what I’ve seen so far, the 15 Pro looks ready to make its mark.
Customers who pre-order the realme 15 Series 5G early will receive freebies worth up to PHP 3,897, including a TechLife Smart Band Fit, TechLife Clip-On Earbuds 2, and a one-year screen damage protection plan. The protection plan is especially valuable since most smartphones under PHP 30,000 (the price range of the previous generation realme 14 Pro / Pro+) don’t come with any coverage for accidental screen damage. Having that peace of mind bundled in is a welcome addition.
Will the pricing match the strong first impressions that the design and build quality deliver? We’ll find out soon enough.
The realme 15 Series 5G will launch in the Philippines on September 16, with pre-orders ongoing until September 26. You can check their official Shopee store for updates.
