Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 Now Official, Priced in the Philippines

Samsung has launched the Galaxy Z Fold7 in the Philippines, introducing its thinnest and lightest Fold yet. The new device combines upgraded build quality, flagship-grade hardware, and a suite of AI tools built into the latest One UI 8 on top of Android 16.

Why it matters: Foldables are still seen as niche devices, but Samsung continues to push their usability further. With the Galaxy Z Fold7, the company is refining what it means to multitask on a phone, adding better AI support, a larger display, and an upgraded camera system.

The Fold7 keeps the same book-style foldable format but gets thinner and lighter than ever before. It weighs only 215g and folds down to just 8.9mm, making it more portable. The cover display is now wider at 6.5 inches with a 21:9 aspect ratio for easier typing and better content handling.

When unfolded, the Fold7 reveals a larger 8-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display, now with up to 2,600 nits of brightness and better visibility outdoors. The hinge has also been redesigned to reduce creasing and increase durability, while the outer frame now uses upgraded Armor Aluminum and Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 for extra protection.

Under the hood, it runs on the new Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, delivering faster AI task processing with a 41% boost in NPU performance compared to the previous model. This allows more AI features to run smoothly on-device, including real-time translation and generative editing.

It also features a 200MP main rear camera, the first of its kind in the Fold series. Other cameras include a 12MP ultrawide, a 10MP telephoto, and a 10MP front camera. AI-enhanced tools like Photo Assist, Suggest Erases, and Night Video are now optimized for the larger screen, along with upgraded audio eraser and side-by-side editing tools for creators.

With One UI 8 and Android 16, Samsung introduces Galaxy AI tools built for large screens. This includes Gemini Live with multimodal AI, Circle to Search, and Results View for split-screen AI prompts, all optimized for multitasking and creativity.
