Transsion has emerged as the top smartphone brand in the Philippines for Q1 2025, according to Canalys data. The brand, which owns TECNO and Infinix, took 33% of the market, marking a strong showing in the country’s entry-level and budget segments.

Why it matters: Transsion’s lead highlights shifting preferences in the Philippine smartphone market, where affordability and aggressive retail presence play a crucial role. Its dominance also signals rising competition for long-standing players like Samsung and realme.
Xiaomi secured second place with 16%, thanks to its Redmi line and budget-friendly models. Samsung followed at 13%, while realme and vivo rounded out the top five with 11% and 8%, respectively.

Transsion’s lead in the Philippines is its strongest performance across Southeast Asia. In other countries, Xiaomi held a more prominent role. It ranked first in Malaysia (18%) and Indonesia (19%), and second in Thailand (17%) and Vietnam (19%).
Samsung led Vietnam with a 28% share and Thailand with 22%, while Apple made it into the top five in Thailand and Vietnam. vivo placed consistently across the five countries, though it remained in lower ranks.
Canalys’ Q1 2025 estimates reflect shipment data (sell-in) and show how the Southeast Asian smartphone scene continues to evolve with fierce competition among Chinese and Korean brands.
Will Transsion keep its momentum in the Philippines through the rest of the year?
