International Data Corporation (IDC) has recently released its Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker citing vivo in the list of top 5 smartphone brands in PH.

The top 5 smartphone brands in the Philippines as of the Second Quarter of 2022 (2022Q2) are as follows:
- realme – 21.8%
- Transsion (techno/infinix) – 20.5%
- Xiaomi – 14.6%
- Samsung – 11.8%
- Vivo – 10.7%
An IDC report from last quarter stated that OPPO placed 5th before vivo took over.
As part of vivo’s positioning to target the ultra-low-end market, the release of devices such as the Y15s and Y15a was one of the brand’s keys to its comeback. Moreover, the consistent expansion of its lineups which includes the ZEISS-powered X80 series and T-series also contributed to its success.

Partnerships with brands and events relevant to mobile gaming such as PUBG Turbo Cup Challenge also helped vivo penetrate the ever-competitive market.
vivo is set to release a few more devices before the year ends.
