Equinix Launches Operations in the Philippines with AI-Ready Infrastructure Network

Equinix has officially started operations in the Philippines, marking its entry into the local market with the launch of Equinix Fabric, Fabric Cloud Router, and Equinix Internet Access. These services allow local enterprises to connect directly and securely to major global network, cloud, and AI service providers through a private, high-speed interconnection platform.

Why it Matters: The Philippines’ digital economy is growing rapidly, with projections of 15% to 20% expansion in 2025 driven by e-commerce, cloud services, and AI adoption. Equinix aims to support this growth by providing a global digital infrastructure network that helps local businesses scale and compete internationally.

Equinix’s entry comes after acquiring three data centers in Manila—MN1, MN2, and MN3. These facilities host over 1,000 data cabinets and are designed for future expansion. They enable latency-sensitive data and applications to be stored and distributed closer to local users, improving reliability and performance.

Through Equinix Fabric, companies can interconnect their physical and cloud infrastructures, strengthening network resilience and enabling secure, scalable growth. Enterprises entering the Philippines can also use Equinix’s global network to expand quickly while optimizing performance and reducing costs.

Secretary Frederick D. Go, Special Assistant to the President for Investment and Economic Affairs, said that Equinix’s entry reflects growing confidence in the country’s digital economy. “This strengthens the Philippines’ role in regional data infrastructure and supports our vision of attracting innovation-driven investments,” Go said.

Secretary Henry Rhoel Aguda of the Department of Information and Communications Technology added that the expansion aligns with the government’s digital goals. “Equinix’s presence will help local businesses, government, and communities fully engage in the digital economy,” he said.

Cyrus Adaggra, President of Equinix Asia-Pacific, said that the Philippines plays a vital role in Southeast Asia’s digital landscape. “With a growing economy, young talent, and strong innovation ecosystem, our digital infrastructure will help more local businesses expand and compete globally,” he added.
