Garmin launches Descent G2 dive computer watch in the Philippines

Garmin has announced the launch of the Descent G2, a watch-style dive computer made for both diving and everyday use. It supports various dive modes, offers health and fitness features, and is designed with eco-friendly materials. The device is now available in the Philippines for PHP 45,490.

Descent G2

Why it matters: The Descent G2 combines dive technology and smartwatch features in one device. With tools for freediving, technical diving, and everyday fitness, it’s built for users who want a single watch that works in and out of the water.

The Descent G2 has a 1.2-inch AMOLED display, designed to stay readable even underwater. Its case, bezel, and buttons are made from recycled ocean-bound plastic. The device is rated for dives up to 100 meters and has up to 10 days of battery life in smartwatch mode. It also comes in black and pink color options.

Key diving features:

  • Multiple dive modes: Supports single and multi-gas dives, trimix, rebreather, and gauge.
  • In-dive compass: Built-in 3-axis compass for underwater navigation.
  • Big numbers mode: Simplified display for easier reading underwater.
  • Dive readiness score: Uses sleep, stress, and activity data to advise if your body is ready to dive.

Freediving features:

  • Apnea tracking and alerts: Get custom haptic and sound alerts for depth, time, and movement.
  • Variometer and velocity chart: Track descent and ascent speeds in the Garmin Dive app.

Smartwatch features:

  • Health monitoring: Tracks heart rate, stress, respiration, hydration, Pulse Ox, sleep, and more.
  • Training tools: Includes preloaded sports apps, adaptive Garmin Coach plans, and recovery insights.
  • Smart connectivity: Pairs with Apple and Android phones to receive messages, use safety features, and download apps via the Connect IQ store.

The Descent G2 is available now on Garmin PH’s website and online through Kinetic, Lazada, and Shopee. Is the Descent G2 the all-in-one watch divers and adventurers have been waiting for?
