Google has announced a new feature for Gemini called Personal Intelligence, designed to help users manage and organize information across their own Google apps. The update aims to reduce the need to switch between different services like Gmail, Google Photos, and YouTube when planning trips, searching for old information, or organizing daily tasks.

Why It Matters: Many people now keep important details spread across emails, photos, and different apps. By letting Gemini understand and connect these personal sources, Google is trying to make everyday digital tasks simpler and less time-consuming.
According to Google, Personal Intelligence works by securely linking selected apps to Gemini. Instead of only relying on information from the internet, the AI can now use a user’s own data, such as travel emails in Gmail or photos in Google Photos, to give more relevant answers. For example, users can ask Gemini to help plan a trip, and it can pull flight details from emails and use past photos to suggest places that match their interests.
Google said the feature is built with a privacy-first approach. Personal Intelligence is optional and turned off by default. Users can choose which apps to connect and can remove access or delete chat history at any time.
The feature is currently in beta and has started rolling out to Google AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers in the United States. Google said it plans to expand availability to more countries, languages, and eventually to the free tier.
With AI now able to look into personal data across apps, how comfortable will users be in letting an assistant handle more of their daily planning and organization?
