HONOR is set to launch its flagship Magic8 Pro globally, starting in Malaysia on November 27. This marks its first release outside China and points to a faster rollout compared to earlier Magic-series devices.

Why it Matters: Launching first in Malaysia suggests that Southeast Asia is now a priority region for HONOR. The move may signal that nearby markets could follow sooner, possibly including the Philippines.
HONOR will open pre-orders from November 27 to December 4 in Malaysia, with a free Insta360 Ace Pro action camera given to early buyers. The brand is also set to livestream the event through its official pages at 3 PM on launch day.
The Magic8 Pro is being promoted as an AI-driven imaging flagship. It is equipped with a 200 MP ultra night telephoto camera, paired with a 50 MP main camera and a 50 MP ultrawide lens. The phone runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and features a 6.71-inch LTPO OLED display with adaptive refresh rate. Reports also indicate a slightly smaller global battery at around 7,100 mAh, compared to the 7,200 mAh capacity of the China model. Fast charging is expected to reach up to 100 W wired and 80 W wireless charging.

HONOR is also adding a touch of celebrity presence, naming Nicholas Tse as its Future Technology Experience Officer for the Malaysian launch. The phone is expected to be presented as a content creation tool with strong AI imaging features.
Would it come to the Philippines sooner than usual too?
