Why it Matters: Tablets are becoming more than just entertainment devices. With features like detachable keyboards, PC-level apps, and creative tools, they are positioned as portable workstations that can replace laptops for students and professionals.

The MatePad 11.5 (2025) supports a PC-like experience with the Huawei Smart Keyboard. It has 1.5mm key travel, function keys, and a detachable clip-on design. Users also get access to PC-level WPS Office apps, with features such as spreadsheet formulas and animated presentations. The tablet also supports Floating Multi-Window with three window ratios for multitasking.

For writing and note-taking, the device pairs with the Huawei M-Pencil (3rd Generation) and the updated Huawei Notes app. The app now includes AI Handwriting Enhancement, a Resource Center with custom covers and stickers, and new brush options.

The 11.5-inch PaperMatte Display uses nano-level etching and optical coating to reduce glare and reflections. It mimics the texture of paper for writing and drawing. The screen also uses polarized light technology to ease eye strain and has TÜV Rheinland and SGS certifications for visual safety. The display has a resolution of 2456 x 1600 and a peak brightness of 600 nits.

The tablet has a slim 6.1mm all-metal body weighing 515g. It comes in Violet and Space Gray. Inside is a 10,100mAh battery, which Huawei says can last over 14 hours for local video playback. Charging supports 40W SuperCharge, filling the device in about 94 minutes. The M-Pencil (3rd Generation) charges wirelessly with a magnetic clasp.

For creatives, the MatePad 11.5 (2025) introduces the GoPaint app, Huawei’s exclusive drawing platform. The app provides multiple brushes and realistic textures to turn the tablet into a digital canvas.
