HUAWEI is calling on photographers and hobbyists to join the XMAGE Awards 2025, a global mobile photography competition celebrating life through images. Submissions are open until September 15, 2025, offering participants a chance to showcase their work internationally.
Why it matters: The XMAGE Awards give HUAWEI smartphone users a platform to share creative visual stories, gain global recognition, and inspire audiences worldwide.
Competition Categories and Prizes: The contest is open to all HUAWEI smartphone users and features eight categories: So Far So Close, Faces, Colour & Shade, Good Night, A Heartwarming World, Experimental Lab, Storyboard, and Action.
- Three Grand Prize winners will receive USD 10,000 each
- 97 other participants will win USD 1,500 each
Entries will be judged by a panel of nine international photography experts, including Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist Liu Heung Shing, Xinhua News Agency editor Chen Xiaobo, Central Academy of Fine Arts Professor Wang Chuan, documentary photographer Chen Jie, and others from leading visual arts institutions.
Selected works will be featured in XMAGE 100, HUAWEI’s curated global showcase of mobile photography, including exhibitions, content campaigns, and future events.
Filipino Photographers Recognized in 2024: Filipino talent stood out at the 2024 XMAGE Awards. Justin Mendoza won one of three Grand Prizes for “Pick a Beak,” taken on a HUAWEI P30 Pro, while Ferdinand Bendana received the Best of Mate Series Award for “Eagle’s Eye” shot on a HUAWEI Mate 50 Pro.
HUAWEI Pura 80 Series for Mobile Photography: The HUAWEI Pura 80 Series, including the Pura 80 Ultra and Pura 80 Pro, is designed for photographers seeking lifelike clarity and creative control.

Participants can submit up to 30 photos or videos captured with a HUAWEI smartphone.
- Images: JPG, JPEG, PNG, under 30 MB
- Videos: MP4, under 400 MB, original EXIF data intact
Submissions can be made via the XMAGE Awards website, HUAWEI Community, or My HUAWEI app using a HUAWEI ID. Participants can also share their work on Instagram with #HUAWEIXMAGE and follow @huaweixmageawards with a public profile.
