Why it matters: Secretary Uy played a key role in advancing the government’s digitalization efforts. His tenure saw the launch of several eGovernment initiatives, including the eGovPH App, eTravel, eLGU, and eReport. He also oversaw the expansion of the Free Public Internet Access Program to over 16,000 sites and helped update the National Cybersecurity Plan.

Under his leadership, the Philippines improved its global standing in digital transformation, cybersecurity, and connectivity. Uy expressed his gratitude to President Marcos Jr. for the opportunity to serve the country.

The DICT assured the public that services will continue without disruption as they prepare to welcome a new Officer-in-Charge.
