LG Philippines has reaffirmed its partnership with the National Museum of Fine Arts through the donation of LG PuriCare Dehumidifier units. The initiative supports the museum’s ongoing efforts to preserve the country’s most valuable artworks, including Juan Luna’s Spoliarium.

Why it Matters: Humidity and temperature fluctuations pose constant risks to paintings and other historical pieces. This collaboration helps the National Museum maintain controlled conditions necessary for the long-term preservation of national art treasures.
The donated LG PuriCare Dehumidifiers are now installed across key galleries, enhancing the museum’s climate regulation systems. Each unit can remove up to 30 liters of moisture per day, reducing risks of warping, mold, and pigment deterioration in sensitive materials such as canvas and wood.
The units are equipped with a Dual Inverter Compressor for efficient moisture removal, UVnano technology for a hygienic water tank, and ultra-quiet operation to prevent disturbance during conservation work. They also feature ergonomic handles, smooth wheels, continuous drainage options, and smart connectivity through the LG ThinQ app for real-time monitoring and remote management.
Jeremy R. Barns, Director-General of the National Museum of the Philippines, expressed appreciation for LG’s continued support. “Humidity is one of the biggest threats to our collection. LG’s dehumidifiers are exactly what we need to fight moisture and ensure these pieces endure,” he said.

Barns also emphasized the cultural significance of preserving works like Spoliarium. “It is the most iconic work of art in the Philippines. When it won in Madrid in 1884, it inspired José Rizal and countless generations since. Protecting it means preserving a vital part of our identity.”
Nakhyun Seong, Managing Director of LG Philippines, said the company is honored to contribute to national heritage preservation. “Through this donation, we’re helping to create the right conditions for protecting priceless artworks. It’s a privilege to support institutions that celebrate Filipino identity and creativity,” he said.
This donation follows previous collaborations between LG and the National Museum, including the installation of LG digital displays used for educational storytelling. The latest contribution expands their partnership into art conservation technology, aligning with the museum’s mission to preserve and inspire.
Aside from museums, LG PuriCare Dehumidifiers are also suitable for homes, offices, and other spaces that require reliable humidity control and clean air.
The partnership highlights the importance of combining modern technology with cultural preservation. By supporting the National Museum’s environmental control efforts, LG helps ensure that Filipino art and history remain protected and accessible for future generations.
