OPPO has announced a deeper collaboration with Google to advance mobile artificial intelligence, focusing on personalization, AI deployment, and data privacy. The partnership aims to bring more intuitive and secure AI experiences to OPPO users through features debuting in the upcoming Find X9 Series and ColorOS 16.

Why it Matters: The collaboration highlights how smartphone brands are integrating AI tools directly into their ecosystems while emphasizing user data protection. OPPO’s partnership with Google aims to balance personalization with privacy by combining Gemini’s generative AI capabilities and OPPO’s AI Private Computing Cloud.
Central to this collaboration is a new app called Mind Space, designed to help users collect and organize information from their phones. Using a three-finger swipe, users can save text, images, or web pages into Mind Space, which automatically categorizes the content for easy reference.
Through integration with Google’s Gemini, Mind Space can also interact with saved content. Users can allow Gemini to access specific items within Mind Space to help perform tasks. For example, travelers can save destination notes and articles, then ask Gemini to create a detailed itinerary using that information.
Beyond Mind Space, OPPO and Google are expanding Gemini’s role within the Find X9 Series. Users will be able to connect Gemini with other OPPO apps, share what’s on their screen or camera for assistance, and use Gemini’s image editing model, Nano Banana, to enhance photos with simple prompts. Gemini Live will also be available, offering on-screen visual guidance and real-time help through the device’s camera or interface.
OPPO says the collaboration is built on a strong privacy foundation. The AI features run through the OPPO AI Private Computing Cloud (PCC), which uses Google Cloud’s confidential computing services. This ensures data remains encrypted and inaccessible to third parties, including OPPO itself. Features such as AI Mind Space, AI Search, AI Call Summary, AI VoiceScribe, AI Recorder, and AI Writer will all operate within this secured system.
Kai Tang, President of Software Engineering at OPPO, said the goal is to combine capability with trust. “Working closely with partners like Google allows us to integrate next-generation AI experiences that are not only powerful but also highly personalized and secure,” he said. “Our goal is to provide users with an AI assistant that truly understands their personal needs and is also worthy of being entrusted with their personal data.”
The new AI features will debut with the launch of the OPPO Find X9 and Find X9 Pro. Buyers of these devices will receive a complimentary three-month subscription to Google AI Pro, offering access to Gemini’s advanced features and 2TB of cloud storage.
With the Find X9 Series, OPPO and Google aim to demonstrate how AI can become a more personalized and secure part of everyday smartphone use.
