Samsung is adding support for Apple’s AirDrop to its latest Galaxy S26 series, aiming to make file sharing easier across different devices. The feature will work through Samsung’s Quick Share, allowing users to send photos, videos, and files more smoothly between supported devices.

Why it Matters: Cross-platform file sharing has long been limited, especially between Android and Apple devices. By adding AirDrop support to Quick Share, Samsung is addressing a common pain point for users who move files across different ecosystems.
The rollout is set to begin on March 31, starting in South Korea. Samsung says it will gradually expand to more regions, including Europe, Hong Kong, Japan, Latin America, North America, Southeast Asia, and Taiwan.
At launch, the feature will be available only on the Galaxy S26 series. Samsung has not yet confirmed which older devices will receive support, but it said expansion plans will be announced at a later date.
This move signals a shift toward better interoperability between platforms, something users have been asking for over the years. It also strengthens Quick Share as Samsung’s main file-sharing tool, making it more useful beyond Galaxy-to-Galaxy transfers.
With the rollout starting soon, will this be enough to make sharing files between Android and Apple devices easier for everyday users?
