The University of the Philippines’ Nationwide Operational Assessment of Hazards (UP NOAH) project has launched its official iOS application, making disaster risk information more accessible to Apple users in the country.

Why it matters: UP NOAH is a platform that provides real-time data, hazard maps, and risk assessments to help Filipinos prepare for natural disasters such as floods, landslides, and storm surges. The release of its iOS app expands its accessibility, ensuring that more users can access critical information for disaster preparedness.
The app offers key features such as:
- Near real-time hazard data to monitor weather conditions.
- “Know Your Hazards” maps to assess risks in specific areas.
- Risk assessments to help local governments and individuals prepare for disasters.
The launch follows UP NOAH’s efforts to improve accessibility, including its 2021 website revamp with a more user-friendly interface. The platform has gained significant traction, recording over 1.1 million active users in 2024 and more than 3 million views on its hazard assessment tools.
The UP NOAH iOS app is now available for download on the App Store. More details about the project can be found on UP NOAH’s official website.
