2K has revealed new details about WWE 2K26’s 2K Showcase mode titled “Punked,” centered on the career of CM Punk.

The mode follows Punk’s journey through major WWE milestones while also introducing alternate-history scenarios and fantasy matchups. WWE 2K26 is scheduled to launch starting March 6, 2026 for select editions, with the Standard Edition arriving on March 13, 2026.
Why It Matters: Showcase modes have become a core feature of WWE 2K titles, allowing players to relive historic matches while unlocking content tied to WWE’s past and present. Adding alternate outcomes and fantasy matchups expands replay value beyond traditional recreations.
2K Showcase: Punked opens with the WrestleMania 41 triple-threat match featuring CM Punk vs. Seth “Freakin’” Rollins vs. Roman Reigns, with Paul Heyman in Punk’s corner. Players control the “Straight Edge Superstar” across matches spanning his WWE career.
Iconic matchups included in the mode feature CM Punk against Randy Orton at WrestleMania 27, The Undertaker at WrestleMania 29, and Drew McIntyre at Bad Blood 2024. The mode includes commentary from Punk, offering behind-the-scenes insights as players progress.
The Showcase also revisits rivalries with WWE Legends and World Champions such as Undertaker, The Rock, Rey Mysterio, JBL, and John Cena.
Alternate-history scenarios ask questions such as what might have happened if CM Punk never left WWE in 2014. One featured match pairs CM Punk and AJ Lee against The Miz and Maryse, with additional alternate outcomes to be revealed.
In Fantasy Warfare, players can face opponents Punk never encountered in a WWE ring, including “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and Eddie Guerrero. These matches take place in an original arena called the CM Punkvillion.
WWE 2K26 also introduces The Gauntlet, an optional challenge where players choose CM Punk or AJ Lee to defeat all 20 Showcase opponents consecutively. Completing The Gauntlet unlocks all Showcase rewards, including playable Legends, alternate attires, managers, championships, and arenas.
2K also released a Ringside Report detailing gameplay improvements such as new match types, interactive environments, surprise attacks, enhanced A.I., rivalries, a new commentary team, and interactive entrances.
Four editions of WWE 2K26 are available for pre-order. The King of Kings Edition, Attitude Era Edition, and Monday Night War Edition launch worldwide on March 6, 2026. The Standard Edition releases on March 13, 2026.
With alternate timelines and fantasy matchups now part of Showcase mode, will WWE 2K26 offer more replay value than previous entries in the series?
