HONOR’s new foldable that’s just announced in China is the HONOR Magic V Flip, a new stunning flip phone with powerful features to boot. HONOR Philippines let us experience it for a few minutes and here are our first impressions.
The HONOR Magic V Flip flips the script on foldable phones with a design that’s both refined and functional. Unfolding it reveals an expansive 6.8-inch LTPO OLED main display. The bezels are minimal, letting the gorgeous visuals take center stage.
With a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, scrolling and animations are buttery-smooth, while the display’s peak brightness of 3000 nits ensures excellent visibility even on the sunniest days.
Despite packing this impressive screen, the phone feels surprisingly light in hand at around 193g, and the slim 7.15mm profile makes it comfortable to pocket when unfolded. Ours is the Camelia white variant that, the HONOR Magic V Flip exudes a sense of quality and attention to detail.
But the magic unfolds (pun intended) when you flip the phone closed. Unlike some competitors’ afterthought-sized cover screens, the HONOR Magic V Flip boasts a surprisingly large 4-inch cover display, also featuring LTPO OLED technology and a 120Hz refresh rate. This generous screen size makes it a game-changer for usability.
Checking notifications, replying to messages, or even taking quick selfies can all be done without unfolding the phone, keeping the flow going, and minimizing wear and tear on the main hinge.
