OPPO Pad SE (LTE) Review: A Reliable 11-inch Smart Companion

Tablets are supposed to bridge the gap between smartphones and laptops, but many mid-range options fall short. The OPPO Pad SE (LTE) tries to fix that with an 11-inch screen, LTE connectivity, long battery life, and a metal body, all for PHP 11,999, but can it stand out among the rest? Here’s our full review.

What’s in the box? The package we got from OPPO Philippines included the following: the tablet itself, a SIM ejector tool, papers for user guide and warranty, a SIM ejector tool, and a USB-A to USB-C data and charging cable. Another box included a folio-type case with a keyboard that magnetically attaches to it so you can use it with the Pad SE. There’s no charging brick included in the package.

Design and Construction

The OPPO Pad SE (LTE)’s aluminum body measures 254.9×166.5×7.39 mm and weighs between around 525 grams. The metal frame of our unit, in Starlight Silver, gives the tablet a premium feel, uncommon at this price. Its slim profile and rounded edges make it easy to hold in one hand, while also feeling solid and durable for daily use.

The finish on the display isn’t as matte as the WiFi version of the Pad SE, but it reduces glare and fingerprints when in contact with sunlight, which is particularly useful for outdoor reading or prolonged use under bright lights. Minimalist aesthetics dominate the design, with clean lines and unobtrusive speaker grills. The quad stereo speakers are placed along the sides, delivering consistent sound whether the tablet is held in portrait or landscape orientation.

While there is no headphone jack, USB‑C and Bluetooth audio provide flexibility for wired and wireless listening. The LTE variant adds mobility, allowing students, commuters, and casual users to stay connected on the go without depending on Wi‑Fi networks via a nano SIM card. There should have been expandable storage here given the layout of the SIM tray, but it’s all blacked out.

The OPPO Pad SE (LTE)’s design is stylish yet practical at the same time. It’s sturdy enough to survive daily use, portable enough to carry comfortably, and versatile enough for a range of tasks—from reading and streaming to light productivity.

Display and Audio

The OPPO Pad SE (LTE) features an 11-inch IPS LCD with a resolution of 1920×1200 (Full HD+) and a pixel density of 207 ppi. The 90 Hz refresh rate ensures smooth scrolling, responsive touch input, and a fluid experience for web browsing, light gaming, and media consumption.

Adaptive brightness reaches up to 500 nits, making the display usable in well-lit environments. TÜV Rheinland-certified eye-care features, including low-blue-light and flicker-free technology, reduce strain during prolonged use. The optional matte display reduces reflections by up to 97%, improving outdoor usability.

The OPPO Pad SE (LTE) handles movies and YouTube videos without visible stuttering. Video content looks crisp for casual viewing, and the combination of the 11-inch screen and stereo speakers provides a balanced experience for both indoor and outdoor environments.

Color reproduction is vibrant in Vivid mode, covering 98% of the standard color gamut. While it does not support HDR or higher resolutions, the display is sufficient for video streaming, web browsing, and e-book reading.

Audio quality complements the display. The quad speakers provide stereo sound with adequate volume and clarity. Bass is moderate, but the overall output is immersive for a mid-range tablet. Bluetooth audio supports aptX, aptX HD, LDAC, and other codecs, ensuring high-quality wireless playback for headphones or speakers.

Camera

The OPPO Pad SE (LTE) features a basic 5MP rear camera with autofocus and a 5MP fixed-focus front camera. Both can record 1080p video at 30fps.

While not suitable for photography enthusiasts, the cameras are functional for video calls, online learning, or scanning documents. Image quality is modest, with limited detail and low-light performance. For casual use, the cameras meet basic needs but should not be relied on for high-quality photography.

For remote classes or casual video calls, the front camera performs adequately under natural light. The rear camera works for capturing documents or quick photos, though users seeking detail and clarity will notice its limitations. The software provides simple controls with minimal AI enhancements, keeping the interface straightforward.

Performance

The MediaTek Helio G100 chipset powers the OPPO Pad SE (LTE), with the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU handling graphics. This combination is capable of smooth performance for web browsing, social media, video streaming, and light productivity tasks. I find myself using this lately outside when I do not want to bring a hefty laptop with me, as it can handle most of the tasks I do with content creation. I use this as much as my go-to device when I go to our neighborhood laundry and wait for my washing cycles to finish with its added folio case and Bluetooth Keyboard.

With 128GB of storage and 4GB RAM (plus an additional 4GB of virtual RAM), multitasking is handled well, and casual games run smoothly on medium settings. Demanding titles require lower graphics settings to maintain smooth performance.

In actual scenarios:

  • Streaming and media consumption: Netflix, YouTube, and Disney+ run without noticeable lag. 90 Hz refresh provides smooth scrolling through app feeds and menus. Videos are crisp, and audio is clear enough for immersive viewing.
  • Multitasking: Switching between browser tabs, notes, and video calls is handled without major slowdowns. ColorOS 15’s app management keeps background apps from unnecessarily slowing the system.
  • Light gaming: Games like PUBG Mobile, Call of Duty Mobile, and Mobile Legends perform well on medium settings. Frame drops are occasional in longer sessions, but casual gameplay remains smooth. Heavy graphics titles may require reduced settings.
  • Content creation: Simple photo editing, document scanning, and note-taking apps run efficiently. However, intensive editing or large media projects will push the tablet’s capabilities.

ColorOS 15, based on Android 15, offers a clean interface with lots of features to boot. I like that open apps have their space on the simple dock at the bottom of the launcher, and the OS gives an automatic option to split the apps side-by-side as what I have experience when I put in a SIM card for the first time – it put the browser beside the messaging app where I clicked the link for SIM card registration from. Kids Mode provides parental controls, and advanced power-saving features optimize battery life over time.

Cross-device functionality is a highlight of the OPPO Pad SE (LTE), particularly when paired with the OPPO Reno14 5G series. Using App Relay and Multi-Screen Connect, users can seamlessly share files, copy text, or control apps across devices. For example, you can start drafting a document or browsing a webpage on your Reno14 and continue editing or viewing on the Pad SE without interruption. Notifications and calls from the Reno14 can also be mirrored, reducing the need to constantly switch devices.

Connectivity includes LTE via nano-SIM, Wi‑Fi 5 dual-band, and Bluetooth 5.4. I used a lot of 4G connectivity here with my Smart Multi SIM card and the newly-launched KiQ MNVO, and it works really well. Face unlock provides basic biometric security, and sensors include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and e-compass. LTE ensures mobile connectivity anywhere, which is especially useful for students and commuters.

Battery and Charging

The Pad SE is equipped with a 9,340 mAh battery. Under typical usage, including web browsing, video streaming, and social media, it lasts over 11 hours, extending to multiple days for mixed-use scenarios.

Fast charging is supported via 33-watt SuperVOOC, as well as PPS, QC, and PD standards. This allows for quick battery replenishment, reducing downtime. OPPO’s smart power-saving modes and long-term fluency protection further enhance endurance, aiming to maintain smooth performance and efficient battery usage over the tablet’s lifespan. Too bad you won’t be able to enjoy this if you are not

A full charge allows a commuter to stream videos for a full day, attend online classes, and complete browsing sessions without worrying about running out of power. Fast charging means topping up during short breaks is practical and convenient.

The Rundown
