MediaTek unveils its new Filogic Wi-Fi 6/6E Chips with the introduction of the Filogic 830 and Filogic 630. The new Filogic series provide reliable connectivity, high computation capabilities, and a rich set of features in a power-efficient design.
MediaTek Filogic 830
The MediaTek Filogic 830 is a Wi-Fi 6/6E system-on-chip (SoC) that packs a 12nm SoC and has four Arm Cortex-A53 processors that operate at up to 2GHz per core for up to +18,000 DMIPs processing power. It has dual 4×4 Wi-Fi 6/6E for up to 6Gbps connectivity, two 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces, built-in hardware acceleration engines for Wi-Fi offloading and networking, and a host of peripheral interfaces. In addition, the chipset also supports MediaTek FastPath technology for low latency applications such as gaming and AR/VR.
MediaTek Filogic 630
The MediaTek Filogic 630 is a Wi-Fi 6/6E network interface card (NIC) solution that supports dual-band, dual-concurrent 2×2 2.4GHz and 3×3 5GHz or 6GHz for up to 3Gbps. It supports a 3T3R 5/6GHz system with internal front-end modules (FEMs). The design helps lower bill of materials (BOM) costs while allowing for sleeker designs thanks to its small RF frontend area. Filogic’s 630’s third antenna enables beamforming capability as well as diversity gains and supports interfaces such as PCIe. This allows it to be combined with Filogic 830 for tri-band connectivity solutions for broadband gateways, enterprise access points, and retail routers with even higher speeds and bandwidth capacity.
MediaTek Filogic Wi-Fi 6/6E products are certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance and have a wide range of applications:
- Home, business or enterprise router and repeater devices
- Service provider broadband equipment or retail devices
- Wi-Fi Alliance EasyMesh certified
- Home automation bridges and IoT
- Consumer devices and applications such as laptops, TVs, IP cameras, wireless storage, audio and more.
Expect these new chips to power your next AIoT device in the coming months.
