Xiaomi’s latest entry into the audio space, the Redmi Buds 6 Pro, positions itself as a feature-packed pair of TWS earbuds that aim to deliver premium audio experiences without demanding a high-end price. After spending time with it, here’s how the Redmi Buds 6 Pro performs across daily use.

Unboxing the package we got from Xiaomi Philippines revealed that the product is as straightforward as it is. You get the buds in its case, a USB-A to C short charging cable, two pairs of silicone eartips in various sizes, and a rather thick user manual providing instructions and guides for first-time TWS users.
Redmi Buds 6 Pro Review: Design and Construction
The Redmi Buds 6 Pro is available in three colorways: Space Black, Glacial White, and Lavender Purple. The charging case has been redesigned with a more angular aesthetic, combining straight and curved lines that lean toward a minimalist and refined style. Its matte finish uses an excimer coating that gives it a smooth, almost soft-touch feel while improving resistance to scratches, corrosion, and dirt. It also keeps the case smudge-free even after regular use.

One of the noticeable design improvements is the battery indicator light strip on the case, which replaces the typical dot-style LED. This strip changes in length depending on how much charge remains, giving users a quick visual cue without needing to check a phone or app. The case is still compact and pocketable, measuring well within standard sizes, and it feels sturdy despite being made of ABS plastic.
The earbuds themselves are lightweight at only 5.2 grams each. Their rounded, in-ear profile with an improved curvature sits snugly in the ear canal. The fit feels secure during light workouts and extended listening sessions. Even after hours of continuous use, the buds didn’t cause any discomfort. They come with three sizes of silicone ear tips to help users get the right seal.

Another welcome addition is IP54 certification, which makes the earbuds resistant to dust and light splashes. While not suited for swimming or heavy rain, it’s enough protection for gym use or outdoor commuting.
Redmi Buds 6 Pro Review: Audio Quality
The Redmi Buds 6 Pro stands out by offering a coaxial triple-driver design—something not usually seen at this price range. Inside each earbud, there’s an 11mm titanium diaphragm bass driver and two 6.7mm piezoelectric ceramic tweeters. This combination is engineered to handle low, mid, and high frequencies more effectively, allowing for better clarity, instrument separation, and dynamic range.
In daily use, the results are noticeable. Low-end tones are deep and impactful without being boomy. The mids are warm and balanced, making vocals sound clear and present. The highs benefit from the ceramic tweeters, which add extra brightness and detail to treble-heavy tracks. Whether you’re listening to jazz, electronic music, or podcasts, the triple-driver system consistently delivers clean and expressive audio.

Support for LDAC audio codec is a big win. When paired with an Android phone that supports LDAC, users can stream high-resolution audio at up to 990kbps. This allows for more detail and less compression, especially when using streaming services that offer hi-fi tiers. It’s worth noting that to get the full benefit of LDAC, you need to enable it manually in Bluetooth settings and have a high-quality source file or stream.
Xiaomi’s in-app equalizer offers EQ presets that can be toggled depending on your listening preference. However, there’s no manual equalizer yet, which might be a drawback for audiophiles who want more control. Still, the presets cover most needs—from bass boost to balanced sound.
One standout feature is head tracking. The earbuds can detect head movement to adjust the stereo field, mimicking spatial audio for a more immersive experience. It works well for videos and gaming, and while it’s not a full Dolby Atmos equivalent, it adds an extra layer of engagement, especially when watching content on supported apps.
Redmi Buds 6 Pro: Performance and Connectivity
The earbuds connect via Bluetooth 5.3, which ensures fast, stable pairing and lower power consumption. Google Fast Pair is supported, which speeds up the connection process for Android phones. The moment you open the case near a supported device, it instantly prompts you to pair.

The Buds 6 Pro also supports dual-device connectivity. This allows you to stay connected to two devices at once—like a laptop and a smartphone—without needing to manually disconnect from one to switch to the other. It’s seamless and convenient for multitasking users.
Call quality is another area where Redmi stepped up. Each earbud has a 3-mic setup that works with an AI noise cancellation algorithm to isolate your voice while reducing background noise. Wind noise suppression, rated up to 12 meters per second, helps during outdoor calls. In testing, calls sounded clear on both ends, even while walking on a busy street or riding public transport.

Hybrid ANC is available with up to 55dB noise reduction, and the cancellation covers a wide frequency range up to 4kHz. There are multiple levels of ANC you can switch through, as well as adaptive and transparency modes. The adaptive mode uses sensors to scan your ear canal and surrounding noise in real time, adjusting ANC levels accordingly. It works well in different environments, such as crowded cafes or office settings, reducing distractions without making things feel artificial or overly quiet.
Redmi Buds 6 Pro: Battery Life
Battery life is another strong point. Each earbud houses a 54mAh battery, while the charging case has 480mAh. Redmi claims up to 9.5 hours of playback on a single charge with ANC off, and up to 36 hours total including the case. In our usage, the device offered between 5 to 6 hours of continuous use with ANC on throughout a single charge using a non-Xiaomi phone in a single charge, which attests to how good its battery life is.
In mixed use (ANC on part-time, LDAC enabled half the time), the earbuds lasted around 8 hours before needing a top-up. With the case, the total uptime stretched close to three days in normal use. A quick 5-minute charge gives you around 2 hours of playback, which is useful if you forget to charge before heading out.
Charging is done via USB-C and takes under two hours for a full recharge. There’s no wireless charging, but that’s still rare in this segment.
The Rundown

The Redmi Buds 6 Pro is aimed at users who want strong audio performance without paying a premium. It’s suited for daily commuters, students, and content consumers who prioritize comfort, long battery life, and premium codec support. If you’re in the Xiaomi ecosystem, you’ll benefit even more from features like audio sharing and quick device switching.
While not targeted at audiophiles, the combination of triple drivers, LDAC, and adaptive ANC makes this a compelling choice for anyone seeking value and performance.
The Redmi Buds 6 is currently available in stores and online for PHP 3,599. You can get yours online at Xiaomi Official stores on Lazada and Shopee, and offline at Xiaomi Authorized stores nationwide.
