Xiaomi recalls 33W 20000mAh Power Bank in the Philippines

Xiaomi has issued a voluntary recall of its 33W Power Bank 20000mAh (Integrated Cable), following reports of potential overheating issues that could pose a fire hazard.

Why it Matters: The recall affects thousands of units sold in the Philippines and highlights the importance of product safety among electronic accessories widely used by consumers.

According to a notice from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the affected product bears the model number PB2030MI and was manufactured between August 1 and September 30, 2024. Xiaomi estimates that about 4,900 units have been distributed in the country.

The company said that under certain usage conditions, the power bank may malfunction and overheat, which could lead to safety risks. Xiaomi encourages all affected customers to stop using the product immediately and register their product serial code through its official support page to process a refund.
