Sony Electronics makes the 2022 BRAVIA XR TV lineup official, powered by Mini LED thanks to Sony’s XR Backlight Master Drive Technology. The lineup includes the X95K 4K Mini LED models, MASTER Series A90K and A80K 4K OLED models, and X90K 4K LED model.

The XR Backlight Master Drive technology is powered by Cognitive Processor XR that lights up the Mini LEDs found inside the X95K series that produces superb brightness with deep blacks and vibrant colors.

Meanwhile, the Acoustic Surface Audio+ for OLED models and Acoustic Multi-Audio for LED models match the position of the sound with the images on the screen. In addition, the Netflix Adaptive Calibrated Mode automatically adjusts image processing based on ambient light under any conditions. Moreover, the BRAVIA CORE Calibrated Mode automatically adjusts the image quality on the screen to align with the video creator’s original vision.

All 2022 BRAVIA XR TVs are “Perfect for PlayStation 5” certified which includes Auto HDR Tone Mapping and Auto Genre Picture Mode.

Sony also introduces the BRAVIA CAM. This camera device recognizes where users are sitting and optimizes the picture and sound shown on the screen. It includes gesture controls and video chat among others and works with the TV to dim the display if viewers are no longer in front of the TV.

On the other hand, Sony’s “Road to Zero” global plan has made its 2022 TVs use recycled plastic content thanks to their in-house developed SORPLAS which uses recycled materials without sacrificing design and durability with reduced overall plastic use by up to 60%.
