Sony introduces its Perfect for PlayStation 5 that brings a gaming experience with immersive picture and sound to its lineup of BRAVIA XR TVs.

Perfect for PlayStation 5 will bring two brand-new PS5 exclusive features: Auto HDR Tone Mapping and Auto Genre Picture Mode. It will also support 4K resolution up to 120fps in compatible games as specified in HDMI 2.1. It will also have input lags as low as 6.0ms on the BRAVIA Z9J models that are perfect for a first-person shooter, sports, and high-performance games with instant on-screen action.

Auto HDR Tone Mapping is optimized instantly during PS5 initial setup and selects the best HDR setting. PS5 will automatically recognize and set it to any BRAVIA TV where it is connected. Thanks to this, details and colors in high contrast scenes can be seen. Software updates on both PS5 and BRAVIA are required for this and will be available by the end of January 2022.

With Auto Genre Picture Mode, the BRAVIA XR TV will detect if a game, movie, or show is playing on the screen. It will automatically switch to Game Mode when gaming which minimizes input lag or to Standard Mode when watching movies at any streaming service or from an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc on PS5. This feature will be available via future software updates on PS5 and BRAVIA TVs by the end of January 2022.

Sony’s sound products such as the HT-A9 Home Theatre System or the HT-A7000 and HT-A5000 soundbars also match the BRAVIA XR TVs and can also be connected to PS5 (software update is required and is available in spring 2022).
