Side-by-side: OPPO Find X9s and OPPO Find X9

The OPPO Find X9s follows OPPO’s clean flagship design language. It uses a flat frame with slightly softened edges, creating a structured but comfortable grip. The frame appears to be aluminum, paired with glass panels, giving the device a solid and dense feel without being overly heavy. At around 202g, it sits in a balanced range for a flagship.

The back panel is where OPPO adds more personality. Color options such as Sunset Orange, Midnight Gray, and Lavender Sky suggest a mix of muted and expressive finishes. Based on hands-on impressions from the Find X series, these finishes tend to focus on texture, reducing fingerprints while improving grip. This matters in daily use, especially for a device with a smooth glass back.

The camera module remains prominent but controlled. It houses a triple 50MP system, including a periscope telephoto lens. While the bump is noticeable, it does not feel excessive, and weight distribution is handled well. The device does not tilt heavily when placed on a flat surface, which is often a concern with large camera systems.

Another highlight is durability. The Find X9s carries IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings. This means it is protected not only from dust and submersion but also from high-pressure water exposure. This level of sealing adds practical value rather than just serving as a spec sheet feature.

The compact footprint is one of the strongest aspects of the Find X9s. With a 6.59-inch display, it avoids the stretch required by larger devices. Combined with flat edges, this makes it easier to hold securely, even with one hand.

Button placement is familiar and functional. The power and volume keys are positioned where your fingers naturally rest, reducing the need to adjust grip. The ultrasonic fingerprint sensor also adds to the experience, offering fast and consistent unlocking without needing precise finger placement.

The front design complements the ergonomics. Slim, even bezels create a clean look while maximizing screen space. The use of Corning Gorilla Glass 7i also suggests improved resistance to scratches and minor drops, which supports everyday durability.

The OPPO Find X9s is clearly built with durability in mind. The triple IP rating stands out, especially IP69, which is still uncommon in smartphones. This makes the device more resilient in real-world conditions such as rain, accidental splashes, or even exposure to stronger water pressure.

The finish also plays a role in durability. Matte surfaces help reduce visible wear over time, especially fingerprints and smudges. This keeps the device looking cleaner without constant wiping.

Despite the large internal battery, the phone maintains a relatively slim profile. This is where the silicon-carbon battery technology becomes relevant. It allows higher capacity without significantly increasing thickness, helping OPPO maintain a compact and comfortable design.

The OPPO Find X9s uses a 6.59-inch AMOLED panel with a 1.5K resolution and a 1–120Hz LTPO adaptive refresh rate. It reaches up to 3600 nits peak brightness, making it usable even under direct sunlight.

It runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s, paired with up to 12GB RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. The camera system includes three 50MP sensors, with a Sony LYT-808 main camera and a 3x periscope telephoto lens.

A key highlight is the 7,025mAh silicon-carbon battery, supported by 80W wired and 50W wireless charging. This is unusually large for a phone of this size and could be a defining feature in real-world use.

Our first take: The OPPO Find X9s focuses on refinement rather than reinvention. Its strength lies in how it balances size, durability, and battery capacity without compromising the premium feel expected from a flagship.

The design and build suggest a device made for everyday comfort. It is compact enough to handle easily, yet dense and solid enough to feel high-end. The unusually large battery adds another layer of practicality that could set it apart from competitors.
