SAMSUNG has launched its newest foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G. The brand has decided to skip the “2” and jumped to “3”. The reason could be is to make it coherent with its bigger brother the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G.
The new foldable smartphone sports a refreshed design compared to last year’s Galaxy Z Flip and packs a new aluminum frame which SAMSUNG calls Armor Aluminum. They claim that this is 10x stronger compared to the old aluminum frame used on their smartphones. Complementing it is the new Corning Gorilla Glass Victus that protects the two half-backs of the smartphone. In addition, the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G is now rated IPX8 water-resistant. This is the world’s first foldable smartphone that is properly rated for water resistance.
Its new rear cover screen is a 1.9-inch 260 x 512px Super AMOLED Display which is four times larger compared to the Z Flip’s and is now able to display more information, quick settings, widgets, and notifications. In addition, this can now also be used for Samsung Pay. Inside is the new 6.7-inch 2640 x 1080px Infinity Flex Display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate that has a New Protective Film that is 80% more durable thanks to its redesigned structure.
Upfront is a 10MP f/2.4 fixed focus front camera and on the back is a new dual rear camera setup that composes of a 12MP f/1.8 Dual Pixel AF wide with OIS + a 12MP f/2.2 ultra-wide cameras that are protected by Super clear glass with Corning Gorilla Glass DX. Other features include a new 5nm 64-bit Octa-Core processor, 5G connectivity, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, UFS 3.1 internal storage, 3300mAh battery, side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and Android 11.
The SAMSUNG Galaxy Z Flip3 5G is priced at PHP 52,990 for the 8GB RAM+128GB configuration while the 8GB RAM+256GB configuration is priced at PHP 56,990 and is available in these colors: Cream, Phantom Black, Lavender, and Green. In addition, there are also Samsung.com exclusive colors namely: White, Pink, and Gray. A Thom Browne Edition Galaxy Z Flip3 5G is also available.
From August 19 to September 21, 2021, customers can pre-order the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G in all Samsung Experience Stores, select Samsung Blue Stores, Abenson, and SM Appliance Stores, and Authorized Samsung online partners.
Freebies and discounts worth up to PHP 27,400 are in store for everyone. Aside from the 1-year free protection from Samsung Care+, buyers can choose from either an e-voucher worth up to PHP 5,000, 50% off on a Flip Cover with S Pen, a free Galaxy Buds Pro, and a 25W Travel Adapter, or a token worth up to PHP 10,000, and a 25W Travel Adapter.
