BIGO Technology hosts its third annual BIGO Awards Gala at BIGO Live’s Music Livehouse Channel (Bigo ID: music) with the theme “Better Live, Better Future”. The awards gala gives honor to BIGO broadcasters who have captivated their audience with their creativity as well as those who have transformed the community by utilizing the live streaming platform in the past year.
The awards gala features BIGO icons from across the globe, with Pinoy BIGO personalities such as Jean Drilon (ID: JD.09.2016), Ian Red Hidalgo (ID: ianred), and Emps Albano Jr (ID: ecstasy69). While Dino, BIGO Live’s mascot also makes a 3D virtual appearance and hosted the event while giving the audience a glimpse into the Metaverse.
The awards ceremony recognizes the top broadcasters and families of 2021 by popularity, both in each region and across the world. Amy and Iwapoyo from Japan, and Vanruby from Vietnam, bags the top spots in the 2021 ranking of Top Global Broadcasters. While Japanese family, BigWin, is awarded as the Top Global Family on BIGO Live. All winners will receive a trophy and in-app rewards and will also be featured in prominent places around the world such as Times Square in New York and Burj Khalifa in Dubai.
Audience members in the event who voted for their favorite broadcasters, families, and Glory Region will also earn tickets to a lucky draw where they can win an Apple iPhone 13, supersize Dino pillows, and a variety of virtual gifts specially designed for the gala.
Approximately, 100 broadcasters around the world participate in the gala through their online performances that include aerial yoga, ethnic music, opera, Tron dance, K-pop dance, and cosplay shows. While the Virtual Live 3D avatar that was recently introduced by BIGO Live makes its debut through a virtual concert with Thailand’s renowned singer-songwriter, “The Toys”.

First BIGO Live PH Annual Awards Gala
BIGO Live recently held its first BIGO Live Philippines Annual Awards Gala where it celebrated the best of the best of BIGO Live’s hosts, agencies, and partners. The event also allowed BIGO Live hosts and users to simultaneously stream and interact with each other through a series of activities and performances.
During the event, the attendees voted Jean Drilon (ID: JD.09.2016) as the Top Performer of the Night. While Host of the Night was awarded to Ian Red (ID: ianred). The Team of the Night award was given to Team Emie (IDs: emieloveee, belzakeizha, Stephy16 and ianred).
“The BIGO Live community opened doors for me. I met people from across the world and made a name for myself through the app. I encourage everyone to download BIGO Live now and see what it has to offer,” said Jean Drilon.
A glimpse of the future
BIGO Live officially launches its Virtual Live 3D avatars in the Philippines, an interactive feature that enhances its users’ social connection with other BIGO Live users. This feature will further integrate the digital world into the physical world by using Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) which allows users to extend their creativity and create their digital representation using their 3D avatars.
