Here’s a piece of feel-good news for the month: LG is truly sharing the good life by helping displaced families from the recent Taal Volcano activity.
For four days beginning January 21, LG visited the main evacuation centers in the Taal area and brought lots of help to affected communities. Their popular Laundry Love program, which involved free laundry washing with ten LG heavy-duty washing machines, made its way to Alfonso Central School, Kaylaway National Highschool and the DOH Rehab Center. These provided the evacuees access to clean and volcanic ash-free clothing, both from their own belongings and from the donations received as well.
Aside from the Laundry Love campaign, LG also conducted medical missions in the area to give physical and optical checkups for the evacuees.
The Korean juggernaut also treated the children with entertainment content coming from Netflix and two LG UHD TVs. Not only that, but they also had book coloring activities, as well as handing out treats of popcorn and candy.
LG PH Managing Director Inkwun Heo spearheaded the initiative immediately upon learning of the plight of those affected by Taal’s eruption. “Our heart is with the Filipino people. Corporate Social Responsibility is the backbone of what we do at LG. We sincerely hope that the worst is over for the Taal community, but rest assured that LG will always be there to help in any way we can.”
It’s not every day that we see tech brands reaching out and helping local communities, and thus bring smiles to our faces.
