POCO M8s 5G now official, priced in the Philippines

POCO has introduced the POCO M8s 5G in the Philippines this April, bringing a new device focused on battery life, display quality, and steady everyday performance. The model positions itself as a step up from the brand’s C-series, offering more power and a more refined viewing experience for daily use.

Why It Matters: The POCO M8s 5G targets users who want longer battery life and a better screen without moving into higher price tiers. This reflects a growing demand in the Philippines for devices that can handle long days of use, from school and work to entertainment, without frequent charging.

At the center of the device is a 7,000mAh battery designed to last up to two days on a single charge. Even at low battery levels, the phone can still support basic functions like calls and standby. POCO says the battery is built to maintain at least 80 percent of its capacity after 1,600 charge cycles. The device also supports 33W fast charging and 18W reverse charging, along with a smart charging system aimed at extending battery lifespan.

The POCO M8s 5G features a 6.9-inch 1.5K display designed for sharper visuals and smoother viewing. It includes triple TÜV Rheinland certifications for eye care and supports Wet Touch Technology 2.0, allowing the screen to remain responsive even with wet or oily fingers. The phone uses a quad-curved back design with a dual-tone finish, available in Black and White.

Powering the device is the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor, paired with up to 16GB of RAM through memory extension and up to 2TB of expandable storage. It runs on Xiaomi HyperOS and includes features such as Google Gemini and Circle to Search with Google for improved usability.

For photography, the phone comes with a 50MP AI dual camera system, supported by AI tools like AI Erase and AI Sky for editing. Other features include a 200 percent volume boost, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and IP64-rated dust and water resistance.

The POCO M8s 5G will be available in two variants: 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB. In the Philippines, it will launch first on Shopee (Buy Here) from April 21 to April 30. During this early sale period, the 6GB + 128GB variant is priced at PHP 11,999, while the 8GB + 256GB version is priced at PHP 13,999. Availability will later expand to other platforms, including Lazada.
