Filipino Potterheads, get ready. The realme 16 Pro 5G Harry Potter Edition is headed to the Philippines, bringing Hogwarts-inspired hardware, custom software, and limited-edition packaging to the local market. Pricing and availability have yet to be announced.
Why it matters: The special edition goes beyond the usual themed smartphone accessories. realme has redesigned the phone’s exterior, software interface, and retail packaging around the Wizarding World, making it a collectible for Harry Potter fans who also want a fully equipped smartphone.
The details: The most noticeable feature is the Hogwarts Four-House Crest on the back, set against a 3D diamond-pattern leather finish inspired by the wizard chessboard. Under UV light, the design reveals all four Hogwarts house colors through what realme calls Quadra Light-Sensing Color-changing Tech, which the company describes as a world-first effect.
The phone also features an aluminum-alloy camera decoration inspired by Hedwig, Harry Potter’s snowy owl. The words “Welcome to Hogwarts” are laser-engraved on the mid-frame, while the device measures just 8.47mm thick.
The Harry Potter theme continues in the software. Users can expect a Hogwarts Castle wallpaper, a themed boot animation, a fingerprint animation featuring flying acceptance letters, and more than 30 redesigned app icons.
Beyond its themed design, the realme 16 Pro 5G Harry Potter Edition carries a 200MP LumaColor Camera that realme describes as the industry’s first TÜV-certified camera of its kind. It also packs a 7,000mAh Titan Battery with 80W fast charging and a 144Hz FHD+ AMOLED display.
The phone also has an IP69 Pro Dust & Water Resistance rating, providing protection against dust and water exposure.
The bigger picture: Special-edition smartphones give brands another way to reach fans through designs tied to familiar entertainment franchises. For realme, this edition combines the Harry Potter theme with features aimed at everyday smartphone users, rather than relying on appearance alone.
For Filipinos: The realme 16 Pro 5G Harry Potter Edition will arrive in the Philippines, although realme has yet to disclose its local price, release date, and availability details.
The limited-edition gift box is styled like a Hogwarts acceptance kit. realme has also teased a hidden surprise inside, but has not revealed what it is.
What’s next: More details about the local launch, including pricing and availability, are expected in a future announcement. Interested buyers can follow realme Philippines on its official Facebook page for updates.
The Bottom Line: The realme 16 Pro 5G Harry Potter Edition combines a Hogwarts-inspired design and software experience with a 200MP camera, a 7,000mAh battery, and a 144Hz AMOLED display. For Filipino Potterheads, the key details to watch for are its local price, release date, and the surprise included in the gift box.
