TikTok named official supporter of 31st SEA Games

Bringing sports fans closer to the games and athletes

TikTok announces its partnership with the 31st Southeast Asian Games (2022 SEA Games), held in Hanoi, Vietnam from May 12 to May 23, 2022. The short-form mobile video application will bring the latest sports highlights to Filipino fans through shared and live video content from official authorities, news media partners, athletes, and more.

“We’re deeply honored to be the official supporter of the SEA Games and to bring this historic event closer to passionate sports fans in the Philippines, especially as the entire nation collectively celebrates our local athletes and their dedication to their craft,” said Alex Soon, TikTok Philippines Community Operations Lead for Entertainment. “Sports continues to hold a special place in the hearts and minds of the TikTok community – and we cherish the opportunity we have in capturing and sharing the most memorable and meaningful moments of this industry with the entire region.”

TikTok users will be able to engage with other SEA Games fans via the official hashtag #SEAGames31. While users in the Philippines can use the official hashtag #LabanPilipinas, to follow the latest highlights including match updates, replays, and trick shots.

In-app effects are also available for Filipino fans to play around with – clappers, confetti, Sao La (SEA Games official mascot), as well as augmented reality (AR) features for soccer, ping pong, volleyball, and more.

TikTok has also collaborated with official authorities and athletes across Southeast Asia including EJ Obiena, Hidilyn Diaz, Jamie Lim, and Agatha Wong to bring live updates from training, events, and celebrations, as well as sneak peeks into the lives of national athletes.
