Global smartphone brand OPPO and gaming organization Mineski enhances the mobile gaming experience of the esports community through its extensive lineup of online tournaments with different activities and exciting giveaways. OPPO was also able to integrate itself into the gaming platform and has driven a lot of engagement from the community.
In relation to this, the OPPO Game On Facebook community was created where professional and casual games come together with nearly 60,000 members all over the country. The group also has its own community cup, exclusive perks, and offered opportunities to its members to promote their content.
In addition, OPPO-branded games such as “OPPO Tower” and “Where’s Ollie” have also become available on Mineski Global’s mgames platform through GCash with over 600,000 players combined. Players can enjoy both games for free and win big bonuses up to PHP 1M.
Moreover, OPPO has also supported the growth of local talents in the esports community, specifically with Blacklist International who has just bagged their victory on the M3 World Championships last December 2021. They have also signed a partnership with OPPO as the brand’s newest gaming ambassador last June 2021 and also gave the team support through OPPO mobile devices and financial support.
“The local esports industry in the Philippines has been bursting at the seams with talent for years and we are proud to have played a part in realizing that potential into concrete, sustainable results. Our partnership with Mineski has allowed us to extend support to the growing esports community and we’re very happy with what we’ve achieved together,” said Ele Yu, Marketing Director of OPPO Philippines.
“2021 has been a remarkable year for Philippine esports. We have proven through our programs and esports infrastructure that the country can develop top talent with teams rightfully earning local, regional, and global accolades across different esports titles. We saw the growth of the mobile gaming market and how Filipinos stood out in the biggest mobile game tournaments such as the League of Legends: Wild Rift Icon Series and the Mobile Legends Professional League. Two All-Filipino teams made it to the finals of M3, where Blacklist International brought home their 2nd championship. We are beyond grateful for OPPO’s support to the gaming community,” said Mark Navarro, Mineski Philippines Country Manager.
These efforts of OPPO and Mineski also helped contribute to both the Philippine Pro Gaming League (PPGL) and the Mobile Legends Professional League (MPL) reaching record-breaking viewership numbers this year.
