For this review, the Redmi Watch 6 Lite was evaluated as an everyday smartwatch, with attention given to its design, display, audio and calling functions, fitness features, connectivity, and battery experience.
The review focuses on what the watch offers as an everyday wearable rather than treating it as a replacement for a full smartphone.
REDMI Watch 6 Lite: Design and Construction
The Redmi Watch 6 Lite gets a redesigned appearance that gives it a more modern, sporty look. One of the biggest changes is the move from a rounded frame to a flat-edge design. This gives the watch a cleaner appearance while also making the rectangular display feel like a more intentional part of the overall design.

The watch measures 44.5mm x 39.4mm and is 9.9mm thick. REDMI has slimmed down the design while retaining enough space for the larger display and internal hardware.

The frame is made of PC polymer, while the included corrugated strap is made of TPU. This keeps the construction practical for a smartwatch intended for daily activity rather than giving it a premium-material focus.

The strap also uses a quick-release mechanism. This is a small but useful detail because replacing the strap does not require specialized tools.

The sensor package underneath, along with the two-pin metal charging connector, includes an optical heart-rate sensor, an acceleration sensor, a gyroscope, an ambient light sensor, and an electronic compass.
For users who exercise regularly, the 5 ATM water-resistance rating adds another layer of practicality. The watch also includes a professional swim mode, so swimming is part of its supported fitness use.
The design works because it does not try too hard. The flat edges, rectangular display, and sporty styling make the Redmi Watch 6 Lite look appropriate for both casual everyday wear and exercise.
REDMI Watch 6 Lite: Display and Audio
The display is one of the biggest strengths of the Redmi Watch 6 Lite. It uses a 1.96-inch rectangular AMOLED panel with a 410 x 502 resolution. The large size gives the interface plenty of space, making information easier to see compared with smaller wearable displays.
AMOLED is also a good fit for a smartwatch. The technology allows the interface to use deep blacks and bright elements, which makes watch faces and other information stand out.

REDMI has also reduced the bezel to just 2.88mm and increased peak brightness to 1,500 nits. These changes help the screen occupy more of the front of the watch while giving it the brightness needed for outdoor use.
The Redmi Watch 6 Lite also supports Always-On Display. This is useful for users who prefer being able to glance at the watch without having to activate the display every time.
The large screen becomes particularly useful during workouts. With more room for information, workout statistics and other interface elements have less need to be squeezed into a small area.

For a watch designed around everyday use, having a large and readable display makes a noticeable difference.
Now let’s talk about the microphone. It’s actually good in picking up voice amidst all the noise and chatter in a crowded cafe, but struggles to pick up my message when I speak in a softer volume.
The speaker is loud enough to be heard for notifications and even when finding it after being misplaced.
REDMI Watch 2 Lite: Performance
The Redmi Watch 6 Lite is less about raw processing performance and more about how well it handles its collection of smartwatch and fitness functions.
Its fitness capabilities are extensive for the type of wearable it is. REDMI lists support for more than 150 sports modes, covering different types of activities for beginners and more active users. It even includes a professional swim mode, which is quite the first in the series.

The watch also comes with a 9-axis motion tracking sensor and multi-system satellite positioning. These are particularly useful for outdoor workouts because the watch can track movement and positioning while exercising.
The electronic compass is another useful addition for outdoor use, while the acceleration sensor and gyroscope provide the motion data required for activity tracking.
For health monitoring, the Redmi Watch 6 Lite supports all-day heart-rate tracking, SpO2 monitoring, and stress tracking, which all work well and provides results near the range of dedicated devices that offer the same functions.

The watch also gets a refreshed user interface, giving the software experience a visual update.
Rather than being a smartwatch that focuses on installing lots of applications, its performance is centered around the functions built into the device. For someone who primarily wants activity tracking, health information, notifications, calling, and other everyday features, that keeps the experience relatively straightforward.
In connectivity, One of the more useful additions to the Redmi Watch 6 Lite is its support for Bluetooth calling. The watch has both a built-in speaker and microphone, allowing users to handle calls from the wrist when it is connected to a smartphone. This makes it more than just a device for displaying notifications. The actual feature is satisfactory whenever we use the watch to receive calls from our mobile number and even from messaging apps such as Messenger and Whatsapp.
The Redmi Watch 6 Lite uses Bluetooth 5.3 for its smartphone connection. This connection handles the smartwatch’s connected functions, including Bluetooth calling and communication with the phone. Bluetooth works really well and stays connected with our device the whole day.
The inclusion of multi-system satellite positioning is also important because it gives the watch positioning capabilities for outdoor activities. This is useful for runners, walkers, cyclists, and other users who want location information during workouts. Do note that GNSS only works when you’re outdoors as it needs atmospheric satellite positioning, and it works well when it’s connected.
Battery
Battery life is another area where the Redmi Watch 6 Lite is designed to reduce the amount of attention the watch needs. The watch has a 470 mAh battery. In our use, we are able to squeeze out around 10-11 days on average from 100 to 0% with moderate daily use, sleep tracking, and all-day heart monitoring.
If you enable the Always-on display, the battery life lowers to around 7-8 days on average.

This gives the Redmi Watch 6 Lite an important advantage for users who do not want to charge another device every night. The long battery target also makes the watch more suitable for continuous wear. Users who want to track activity and health throughout the day do not have to treat charging as part of their daily routine.
The Rundown
Best for: The Redmi Watch 6 Lite is best for first-time smartwatch buyers, fitness enthusiasts, students, young professionals, commuters, and users upgrading from a basic fitness band.
It is particularly suited to people who want a large display, extensive workout tracking, health monitoring, Bluetooth calling, and long battery life in one wearable.

It also makes sense for users who spend time outdoors and can take advantage of multi-system satellite positioning, the electronic compass, and the watch’s range of sports modes.
Skip if: Skip the Redmi Watch 6 Lite if you are looking for a premium smartwatch experience centered around premium materials, advanced third-party applications, or extensive standalone functionality. If you are also looking for NFC connectivity, this may not be it.
The watch is designed around being a companion to a smartphone, with its strengths focused on fitness, health, notifications, calling, and everyday wearable functions.
WalasTech Worthy Feature: What makes the Redmi Watch 6 Lite stand out is how it brings Bluetooth Calling to your wrist. With its built-in speaker and microphone, you can take calls without having to pull out your phone. Whether your hands are busy, your phone is tucked away in a bag, or you just want to quickly answer a call, the watch gives you a convenient way to stay connected.
At its core, the Redmi Watch 6 Lite is a practical wearable for someone who wants more than a basic fitness tracker but does not need an overly complicated smartwatch.
The REDMI Watch 6 Lite is now available online at Xiaomi’s official online stores for PHP 3,999 (Buy here at SHOPEE) with a free band strap in tow. Offline availability will follow on September 15.
